Apostille

The majority of documents that require notarisation are for use overseas and will also need further certification, known as an “apostille” or the Hague Apostille Convention, issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

The apostille confirms both my identity and my authority as a notary. In other words, it is another layer of verification confirming to the receiving party that the Notary, in fact, signed the document.

After a Notary has signed and sealed your document, it will be sent to the FCDO for apostille certification and then returned to you by DHL courier to the address you provide, either in the UK or overseas.

I offer both standard and express apostille services depending on how quickly you need your document back.

Consular Legalisation

In many cases, your documents may need consular legalisation from the embassy of the destination country. Certain countries may also require verification from a chamber of commerce. Consular Legalisation is usually required by countries that have not ratified the Hague Convention of 5th October 1961 on the legalisation of public documents.
